Dementia Training
Dementia caregiver training equips individuals with the skills to manage cognitive decline, focusing on person-centered care, effective communication, and behavior management. This adaptable curriculum teaches you how to handle daily challenges, prioritize safety, and reduce stress both for the person living with dementia and for yourself.
Assisting with ADLs: Learn safe, dignified strategies to help with bathing, dressing, eating, and grooming. Verbal & Non-Verbal Techniques: Learn how to speak clearly, use positive body language, and interpret "behavior as communication" (e.g., pain, fear, or frustration)
Managing Distress: Explore de-escalation strategies—such as the "4 R’s" (Reassure, Reconsider, Redirect, and Relax)—for managing repetitive questions, aggression, or hallucinations.
